News from Adelina Demidova 💜

Good evening! This week has been very difficult. Adelina has a fever of almost 102.5 degrees Fahrenheit (39°C), nausea, and vomiting. Her mucous membranes are all inflamed, and her neutrophil count is zero. She's not eating at all, and is on intravenous nutrition. She has gastrointestinal issues. Her platelet and hemoglobin counts have also dropped. She had a reaction to the platelet transfusion, but it was immediately controlled. The platelet transfusions were given for several days. We haven't slept at night because Adelina's mucous membranes are so inflamed that we have to constantly wash them and apply ointments. She's exhausted and sleeps most of the time. She's very cold and has severe swelling. Because of her gastrointestinal issues, she can't absorb the medications she takes orally, and her phosphorus count has dropped sharply. She's been on intravenous phosphorus for six hours. But today her neutrophil count started to rise 🙏
